The Lord of Time is back...

With a new book, "A briefer History of Time".

I ask: "If you could go back in time, who would you rather meet, Marilyn Monroe or Isaac Newton?" and after 10 minutes he says in that voice that makes the blandest statement sound profound: "Marilyn. Newton seems to have been an unpleasant character."

The Guardian.

Big news...

RELIGIOUS belief can cause damage to a society, contributing towards high murder rates, abortion, sexual promiscuity and suicide, according to research published today.

According to the study, belief in and worship of God are not only unnecessary for a healthy society but may actually contribute to social problems.

From the Times.

Hell yeah.

I´ll never drink whisky again

¿But what will I do with that Johny Walker? Goddamit. All the blood vessels of my head hurt. Or at least feel like. It is too hot. My head hurts. I´m hungry and thirsty. It is 8:00 am sunday morning.

First thought to mind? I need a frapuccino. No, I need water. Erm. Maybe something spicy, like, really really spiciy... Oh. Un limón real con chiltepines... Meh... nah. Todavía no es tiempo de limones reales. Tacos de cabeza. Si. Awww. Todo me da vueltas. Maldita sea que sed. Me duele el cuello. ¿tal vez una coca cola? Dos tylenol. Más agua. Aghm. Goddamit.

I´ll never drink whisky again.

I swear.

And today´s obsession is...

I mean,

Part of what makes seahorses fascinating is that the males give birth. In what other species do the males take on an important role in caring for their young?

They are so cute. I think men should at least breast feed or something. What!? :*)

Not long ago, I saw a colored variety on the movie Life Aquatic (I want the soundtrack. And why Owen Wilson always look so stupid?). I wonder if it exists for real. the fish, not Owen Wilson.

Here some images I found.

It is amazing.

What´re you saying? That I should get a life? Well what are you doing reading this? Go away! hahaha

I feel proud today of one thing. I called my mother and she was....READING! Oh yeah, she was totally reading one of the last two books I gave her. I WIN! Ok I know it was Girl with the Pearl Earring (you know, the story of the Vermeer´s painting, at least according with Tracy Chevalier...a novel). So much for a victory...but she is reading something other than the church books! Yeeeehhi! the recepcionist, my mom. Two down, one million to go. The only thing that worry me is that I need to find the next book that can possibly keep them reading. Ummm.

What else? Oh yes, I spent so much time reading the threads and forums of the new Nintendo Revolution controller than now I want to try one (dear Nintendo press people...) and...OHHHH Howl´s Moving Castle is awesome. Awesome!!! Miyazaki is a genious. I wonder how many things have I missed by having only watched three of his movies. Visually amazing. The story, quite entertaining and interesting. Fantastic. Even funny. The music, beautiful.

Oh well. I guess those are too much obsessions for a day, and I didnt even talked about the main one. >;*)

Tokyo's Sky City (Interactive Walkthrough)

"Some Japanese architects want to change our approach to urban crowding. They think we can live in the sky, and they hope to build a vertical city twice the height of today's tallest skyscraper that would house, employ and entertain hundreds of people."

What are you thoughts on the possibility of this? Would you live in it?

No importa. Y vuelvo a ver aquí. A mis pies. Ante mis ojos. Una por una. Muchas piedras que quitar...

Ya era hora.

Un día como hoy II

September 20:

451: Flavius Aëtius, with the help of Roman foederati, defeated Attila in the Battle of Chalons, and halted the invasion of Gaul by the Huns and their allies.
1378: Papal Schism: Unhappy with Pope Urban VI, a group of cardinals elected a rival papacy in Antipope Clement VII, throwing the Roman Catholic Church into a turmoil.
1854: The Crimean War began with a Franco-British victory over Russian forces in the Battle of Alma (pictured).
1946: The first Cannes Film Festival opened. The Palme d'Or, then known as the Grand Prix du Festival, was shared by eleven films that year.
1973: Billie Jean King defeated Bobby Riggs in straight sets in an internationally televised tennis match dubbed the "Battle of the Sexes".

Don´t Panic

I never thought I would find the DVD at Blockbuster. Was looking for something nice enough to show to my cousins. So. Whoa! I grabbed it instantly, and they loved it. I´m afroid I have created a monster. My little cousin Azahel kept singing "So long so long so long..." until quite late, and of course kept asking during all the movie what the deal was with the towels. They haven´t read the books yet. Oh, that was mostly enjoyable. I´ve got to get it for my small (but growing) personal collection. >:*D

NerdTV#1: Andy Hertzfeld

Heh. That was fun.

And now for something completly different...

I was going straight to home. Stupid independence celebrations. right? Couldnt care less about them. But then a call. Wanna go to the circus? No. Cool! We´re picking you in 5 mins! but... Wait! So here I go to the circus. By the time we got there, there were no more tickets, and no second show. So what are we doing now? Next scene, I´m buying an ice coffee on the movie theater. Cursing life and with a ticket of the Grimm brothers or the brothers Grimm or whatever in my pocket. I actually enjoyed the movie a bit, even with Mat Daemon on it. You now. Mat Daemon. Demmon. Who cares. I was pretty sure it would suck. But it actually kept me mostly entertained. Later I realized the director actually was Terry Gillian. Oh. Talking about having school. SO, Ice coffee, pop corn and an acceptable movie. (Bellucci as a cursed queen bonus included)... I have no idea how much ($) as it is nearly three in the morning and my brain is working worse than the normal malfunction. But, not having to be on a crowded plaza hearing the same stupidities, priceless. Oh well. I should be f+n sleeping.

Goofs: Anachronisms: Brahms' Lullaby is sung and hummed throughout the movie by the Woodsman. But the movie takes place around 1812 and Brahms was born in 1833. (IMDB)

Luces Artificiales

Sadly, the damage they make when they burn you is everything but artificial.

another day

and Google launches another thing.

I keep getting nightmares. F´n nightmares.

My hands smell like hot cakes flour today.

Oh and I read "Muertos sin sepultura", by J. P. Sartre. I left started "El diablo y Dios". I´ll report. He´s one of my favorite authors. If people asked with what writer you would rather sleep with instead of the dumb "What famous person would you like to meet?" I´d say Sartre. Or Hesse. No... Sartre. And Beauvoir. A threesome. Ow. Now I see why people do not ask that kind of questions.

I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today

No rain has to be one of my favorite songs of all times.

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain

I like watchin' the puddles gather rain

And all I can do is just pour some tea for two

and speak my point of view

But it's not sane, It's not sane

I just want some one to say to me

I'll always be there when you wake

Ya know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today

So stay with me and I'll have it made

And I don't understand why I sleep all day

And I start to complain that there's no rain

And all I can do is read a book to stay awake

And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape

All I can say is that my life is pretty plain

ya don't like my point of view

ya think I'm insane

Its not's not sane

It is 22:07. I´m still on the newspaper. I´m starving. And I´m ok.
I realized today that if I call a person, they always think something is wrong, or I need something, or the sky may be falling. I don´t need anything. I´m ok. I just wanted to make sure you were ok. I´m pretty sure I´m the worst friend in the world, that doesnt mean I do not think of you probably several times a day. Not just because I never call. I have others ways to call. I´m always there, and the few for who I´m always there, know it. I´m always there, but I´m also in the moon. And do not know very well the earthy communication standard human methods.

Who wants to be an Internet Chief Evangelist?

Oh well, Google has already hired... Vinton Cerf. No less...

140 mins +

The brotherhood of war.

I left reviews to Mr. Karreau... All I´ll say is that it is bloody, it reminded me of Saving Private Ryan, Medal of Honor and just how stupid war is.

Not that I needed any of those.

I hate it when the drama music is too obviously manipulative. Like people, now is when you´re suposed to feel sorry for them. If you´re gonna cry, now is the f´n time... And in this filme, it is. Oh well... I suppose it has its strenghts, only it was late and I was terribly tired.

War is terrible. I really didnt needed to watch another war film.

Like if the news werent enough...

Crazy people...

But... It is indeed awesome. I watched House of Flying Daggers, and played Ridge Racer on it.
I fell in love. I haven´t ,though, used the WiFi browsing capabilities with the 2.0 firmware, but, I still want it. Heh. $250 down...

Weird Days (cellphone-o-less)

A ver... ¿estoy tomando drogas? Algo ligero. Y a ver, qué me podría dormir...

Worldwide Naked News (+ kazaa)

Jacques Chirac ya está mejor.

Oct 19 <--Juicio de Saddam.

"Katrina", castigo de Dios: Al Qaeda. (I knew it)

En Alemania probablemente gane Shroeder.

Video de neptuno. Yei. Hubble.

Meh.

¿Qué no?

My life sucks.

Fan Mail (I wish)

sh*t! The online edition. But girl, you can always download the PDF´s. Besides, who is the mean teacher who forces you to read such a horrible thing every monday.

Now I feel bad.

(men, I miss my APEX!) And just to digg a little bit more (I am a pain in the ASC..II), did you guys saw how much will it cost to Sony the Blu-Ray on the PS3? I, for one, am betting on the Xbox 360 for my future winter lonely nights of dork entertainment.

Birthday Girl

Nah. I prefer chocolate cake. But I did liked my pink plastic phone to the right. I was three? Four? Anyway. I´m officialy 30 now. Still deep down (actually, not so deep down haha) I still am this little girl. In many ways, I have preserved the spirit. That has to count, right?

BTW I was really testing the cake mom made for me. I gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars. ;*)

Thank you for the best whishes to whoever read this. C´mon, I know you do. (You better do!!!)

I would like to think the best is to come yet. ;*) Here is to that. If not, I´ll still celebrate wth a bottle of vodka. I just hope I dont end up drunk singing old mexican songs.

Well. That´s it. They are playing "Las mañanitas " now... Stop it.

Gonna make me cry, goddamit.

Forecast (Rain. No matter what)

Well, first of all, some background: Tomorrow is my birthday. Normally, that´s enough to put me on a bad, cranky mood. Now. I seem to have a hormonal revolution. That is, on top of the normal chronic depresion, insomnia, mental disorders and the like. I know. Sh*t.

The thing is I dreamed I was killing myself. Not really killing. I was more like, opening my entrains with a knife. I suposse I wanted to put out my organs, like if they were lego or a puzzle, and then put them back and sewing my belly with a needle.... BUT... I didn´t had any entrains. I had... cherries. I know. Blood and cherries. Also, plums. Yeah. Plums. Bloody ones. I kept putting them out, and it seemed to be a tree. I mean, I wasn´t. It was like a vision of branches and everything. Even flowers and blossoming. But wasnt it strange that the fruits were inside????

Anyway. This day is a rollercoast so far. I have been angry, sad, and I have cried before 2:00 pm. That cannot be good. Wasn´t I supposed to get some joy (excuse me, I meant, "exaltation episodes") too? SOOOO? Where are them?!

F´n head chemicals of hell.

Solve et coagule.

Huxley, Hesse and The Cybernetic Society.

Fantastic essay.

Vintage Mexico

There is something about this ads/posters that I find fascinating.

I remember when I was like ... maybe 9? We used to go to a ranch, property of an uncle, and there was this little house there -where the people who took care of the ranch lived... really simple people-, it was so old. And you could still see adds like these. And oooold calendars. Actually, in some stores on the road to the little town where my parents live, it is possible to see this "vintage" adds, specially of cigarettes and drinks (coke etc)...

whew. I can almost smell the places...

People will think you´re ordering books!

New subcategory on Amazon.

No it´s not a joke! :P
